The Peterborough Telegraph is not disagreeing. Goalkeeper Christy Pym, who saved a penalty, and Jack Taylor, who supplied a fine early finish, provided the only Posh highlights as they were comprehensively outplayed by a team 89 places below them in the football ladder.
Posh were so poor, a new 3/10 rating has been introduced for the day and we’ve included a manager rating for the first time.
Ratings key: 10-Perfect, 9-Outstanding, 8-Very good, 7-Good, 6-Okay, 5-Poor, 4-Very poor, 3-Simply dreadful.
1.
CHRISTY PYM: He was at least blameless and made a fine penalty save to keep Posh in the game. No chance with two poorly defended Chorley goals 6.5
2.
FRANKIE KENT: An ugly drop in form. Unsettled by the imposing figure of Chorley striker Cardwell, couldn't execute simple passes, didn't defend the cross for the first goal well 3.
3.
MARK BEEVERS: A horrible display from the skipper. Ruffled by the long, high ball, too ambitious with some of his passing, caught napping for the first goal, clumsily gave away a penalty 3.
4.
FRAZER BLAKE-TRACY: A big disappointment after the promise of his previous match. Looked nervy on the ball and kept giving it away 3.
