Trampoline and adventure park operators Flip Out has taken over the former Bounce premises in Wedgwood Way, Bretton, which employed 40 staff.

The venue, which opened four years ago, has been closed during lockdown.

But the new owners say the trampoline park will re-open in the near future and will be renamed Flip Out Peterborough and made into one of Flip Outs signature Adventure parks.

Flip Out is a trampoline park franchise that has 25 sites across the country.

Richard Beese, the company co-founder, said the Peterborough site will be fitted with the latest technology and a mixture of the best and latest attractions in the market over the next few months.

“We are so pleased to have been able to save lots of jobs and give back something even more special to Peterborough than what they had previously.

“We can’t wait for everyone to come and say hello.

“With schools and leisure facilities being closed for so long now, it’s become increasingly difficult to keep kids active and healthy.

“Our stores are bursting at the seams with attractions designed to set pulses racing and now more than ever I think people can benefit from having a bit of fun.

“As a special thank you to NHS workers and families who have been on the frontline of the COVID-19 crisis, Flip Out will be offering some free sessions at certain times throughout August.”

Mr Beese said the business had been busy during the Covid lockdown devising new guidance to ensure their facilities can be enjoyed safely and deep cleaning venues.

He said: “Flip Out will open its doors again with strict measures in place to mitigate risk; all stores will be run at a reduced capacity with staff to wear personal protective equipment and temperature checks being taken on entry.”

Flip Out trampoline and adventure parks cater for kids, teens, and adults with an array of activities on offer, including battle beams, climbing walls, potholing, laser tag, trampolines, and inflatables.

They also have designated, themed, party rooms, bars, and restaurant facilities that overlook the action for mums and dads who might prefer to put their feet up and watch. In addition, they run disability sessions where carers are allowed in for free.

Bounce Indoor Trampoline Parks, which was the trading name for Reboot Leisure Ltd, bought the 29,824 sq ft warehouse at Bretton, which was being marketed at a price of £1.4 million, in 2016.

Reboot Leisure had opened the UK’s first indoor trampoline park in Milton Keynes two years earlier.

It was reported that the Peterborough site marked the start of a planned expansion programme.
