Coronavirus: Five patients die in single day at hospitals run by Peterborough health trust

Five patients with coronavirus at hospitals run by the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust died in a single day, according to the latest figures released by NHS England.

The five deaths were recorded at either Peterborough City Hospital or Hinchingbrooke Hospital yesterday (Tuesday).

NHS figures do not show at which hospital the patients died at.

The total number of Covid-19 patients at the trust’s hospitals to have passed away has now reached 78.

Of the first 74 people to have died, the trust said 44 were at Peterborough City Hospital.

All 74 patients were said to have been aged between 30 to 98 and had pre-existing health conditions.

In total, the number of hospital patients across the UK with Covid-19 to have died in the past 24 hours is 759.

The number of people in Peterborough to have tested positive for coronavirus has risen from 147 to 155 according to the latest figures.

In Cambridgeshire, the number of positive tests is 569, while the figure is 669 for Lincolnshire and 945 for Northamptonshire.
