Huntingdon man spreads 'Europeans welcome here' message after hateful leaflets appear post EU Referendum

A Huntingdon man has started a 'European people welcome here' campaign after hateful anti-immigration notes were found in Huntingdon after the EU referendum result on Friday.

Thomas Norman, has produced his own “Polish people welcome here notes” which are being spread throughout social media.

Thomas’ campaign follows the discovery of abusive leaflets were left on cars near to a school in the Stukeley Meadows area of Huntingdon, as well as around a number of properties.

The laminated cards reading “Leave the EU - no more Polish vermin” in both English and Polish are being investigated by police and have been condemned by the Polish Embassy in London.

Thomas said: “To counter what has been posted through certain doors in Huntington, I thought I would start this off.

“Polish People Welcome Here! Please note any other people from any other country this applies to as well. Other than that please share to get this message out there!! ‪#‎europeanpeoplewelcomehere‬”
