Man detained under Mental Health Act after A1 closed at Sawtry

The A1(M) was closed northbound last night as police had concerns over the safety of a man.

Cambridgeshire police were called at about 6.15pm to the A1(M) near Sawtry.

The road was closed on the northbound carriageway, and temporary speed limits were imposed southbound while officers detained a man under the Mental Health Act. He has now been transferred to hospital.
