There have been seven more coronavirus deaths reported at Peterborough City Hospital in less than a week.

On Wednesday last week, 180 deaths related to COVID had been reported at the hospital since the pandemic began.

Today, Caroline Walker, Chief Executive, for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, said: “I can confirm that sadly, 296 patients being cared for in our Trust have passed away since we began reporting Covid-19-related deaths. There have been 109 at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and 187 at Peterborough City Hospital. All patients were aged 30 to 98 years old and had pre-existing health conditions.

"Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients' families and loved ones at this difficult time."
