The school has been forced to teach pupils from home while the problem is investigated.

Leighton Primary school in Peterborough has been forced to close on Wednesday (November 9) due to a lack of access to running water in the school.

Teachers at the school in Orton Malborne were forced to send out home learning activities to students.

A message to parents read: “Leighton currently does not have access to running water in school today. Therefore, the school is unable to open today on Wednesday 9th November 2022.

"School staff will send out home learning activities via the school website by 10am this morning. We will keep you updated with the situation.

"Thank you for your support and patience at this time.”
