Supermax Healthcare in Titan Drive, Fengate, sold its stock of 88.5 million medical gloves held at its factory to the Government for use by the NHS during the coronavirus pandemic.
But the company has dug out more than 7,000 extra gloves which it handed over to MP for Peterborough Paul Bristow this morning after seeing the efforts he was making to encourage donations in the community.

“We’ve also donated gloves to Thorpe Hall hospice and (housing association) Cross Keys Homes.”
Having sold out of all of its gloves, the company is now looking to replenish its stocks going forward. Jak added: “We’ve been an NHS supplier for many years and will continue to supply them.”
Mr Bristow said: “What a brilliant Peterborough company. Not only are they supplying our NHS at this difficult time, they are also donating PPE gloves to care homes across the city and residential homes.

The MP has also been meeting wardens from Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough this morning who are helping to donate groceries to people in the community.
Mr Bristow was joined by Kate Selby to deliver goods to Margo Wade (79) in Welland.
He tweeted: “What a fantastic job the wardens from @AgeUKCAP do. Looking after the most vulnerable in our City at this difficult time. I enjoyed meeting Mrs Wade of Waltham Close when dropping off groceries - she truly values this great service.”
